In 2014 the financial landscape looked very different. There was an ongoing epidemic of the ol’ boys club of money advisors talking over or down to women, and it was time for change. That’s what led HWM founder, Hilary, to start Hendershott Wealth Management: There was a clear need for financial advisors who had the best interests of women at the forefront, and saw the advisor-client relationship as more than just a transaction. Hilary wanted to see women wealthy, empowered, and free to make choices that allow them to thrive–independently or in a partnership. That has changed a lot in the last ten years and options are easier to come by if you need an advisor who understands how to work with women. It’s been incredible to witness this sea change, and we can’t wait to be a continued part of that movement. Together, we can shift the conversation about wealth from shame, scarcity, and limiting outcomes to mutually empowered success–where people are in right relationship with wealth.
