Altaris, through its affiliated advisors, manages investment funds offered privately to qualified investors. Altaris identifies and evaluates investment opportunities, negotiates terms, manages investments, and seeks dispositions, primarily in non-public healthcare companies. Altaris' senior principals often serve on the boards of portfolio companies to influence management. Altaris may also provide co-investment opportunities to certain investors and service providers.
Altaris manages investment funds and charges a management fee, typically 2.0% annually, based on investor capital commitments. After the investment period, the fee is based on the value of investments less any write-downs. This fee is reduced by a portion of certain fees paid by portfolio companies to Altaris. Some investors may be exempt from these fees. Investors also bear certain expenses related to the funds' activities.
