First Reserve provides investment advice to investment funds it sponsors. These funds are not registered as investment companies and their securities are not registered. First Reserve identifies investment opportunities and participates in the acquisition, management, monitoring, and disposition of investments for each fund, primarily in private equity and buyout investments within the global energy, utility, and industrial markets. Investment advice is provided to the fund, not to the individual investors in the fund.
