They offer two basic investment capabilities: direct private funds and private equity funds of funds. The direct funds invest in operating entities, while the funds of funds invest in direct private funds managed by other fund groups. Vedanta's services include identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, negotiating investments, and managing and monitoring investments.
Fee Structure
Vedanta Management does not directly manage investments for individual investors. They manage private investment funds, and investors in those funds are subject to management fees and carried interest. The management fees for direct funds are typically 2.0% to 2.5% annually on capital commitments during the active investment period. For unleveraged funds of funds, the management fee is generally 1.0% to 1.25% annually on capital commitments. The advisors may also receive carried interest ranging from 5% to 20% of the realized profits of a fund.
