Proteus operates an alternative investment platform, offering professionally managed investment strategies to approved investors. These strategies are managed by third-party investment managers, Proteus, or subadvisors. Proteus selects and monitors these managers, constructs portfolios of investment products, and actively manages model portfolios. Proteus provides investors with information and tools to evaluate managers. Proteus's clients are feeder funds and master funds.

The management fee is calculated monthly and paid in arrears. Proteus may establish lower maximum annual rates for different Feeder Funds or waive or reduce all or any portion of the Standard Fee Schedule charged in respect of any Investor. For the Weather Mark Fund, Proteus receives 50% of the 1.50% annual advisory fee charged to clients, with the sub-advisor receiving the remaining 50%. The sub-advisor also receives a performance fee equal to 20% of the total return after certain fees.
