Scientech Research offers discretionary investment management to separately managed accounts and pooled investment vehicles. The firm's investment strategy focuses on market neutral investing, long and short, in U.S. and international equities markets, including derivatives and ETFs. Scientech intends to reduce its portfolios’ risk, avoid concentrating positions, apply hard limits to exposure, and will block certain trades or liquidate positions if a hard limit is breached. Scientech may tailor its advisory services to a particular client's investment objectives, restrictions and guidelines.
Fee Structure
Scientech Research generally charges both asset-based management fees and performance-based fees to its clients. The management fees are calculated monthly based on the value of the assets in the client's account. The types and amounts of fees are subject to negotiation based on factors such as the size and complexity of the account, the length of the relationship, and other relevant factors. For very large accounts, Scientech may charge a pro rata share of operating and overhead expenses in lieu of an asset-based fee. Scientech also receives performance-based compensation from its clients, as agreed and set out in the investment advisory agreement. Performance-based compensation is equal to a percentage of the net increase in value of the assets in the client account over the applicable measurement period, after recovery of any losses in prior measurement periods, and subject to variation based on additional performance-related criteria in certain cases.
