However, a third-party vendor charges a processing fee to cover the movement of client funds to their 529 accounts. The processing fee is $1.49 for contributions of $0-$150, 1% for contributions between $150-$2000, and capped at $20 for contributions over $2,000. Clients may also be assessed fees charged by the 529 plan itself.
