McKinley Alaska Private Investment (MKA) focuses on investments in private companies with operations relevant to Alaska. MKA manages these investments through private funds or separately managed accounts on a discretionary basis. MKA may also act as a sub- or co-investment advisor. MKA's investments are not tailored to individual investors in the funds but can be tailored for separately managed accounts. MKA may refer clients to other McKinley entities.
McKinley Alaska Private Investment is compensated through management fees based on a percentage of committed capital, invested capital, incentive fees, carried interest, or performance-based fees. These fees are detailed in the limited partnership agreements for the funds and separately managed accounts. Management fees are typically deducted in advance on a quarterly basis. Performance fees are paid to the general partner after all capital contributions have been returned and a preferred return has been received. In rare instances, a fee may be charged quarterly in arrears for separate client accounts.
