AlpInvest US Holdings advises pooled investment vehicles and separate accounts, investing globally in private equity, including buyouts, growth capital, venture capital, distressed debt, and energy. AlpInvest invests in third-party managed funds, co-invests alongside those funds, and provides debt financing to private equity portfolios. AlpInvest is owned by The Carlyle Group but operates independently with its own investment authority.
AlpInvest manages investments for pooled investment vehicles and separate accounts. AlpInvest is typically paid a management fee, calculated quarterly in advance. Management fees generally range from 0.1% to 1.6% annually, based on available capital commitments or committed capital to investments for a period of one to five (or more) years, and thereafter the basis for the management fee typically changes to either net invested capital, fair market value, or the lower of cost and fair market value of underlying investments. Certain clients also pay an administration fee. AlpInvest also typically receives performance-based fees or allocations from most advisory clients.
