Southern Equity Advisors provides investment management services to private funds and special purpose vehicles (SPVs). These funds are offered to qualified and accredited investors, including high net worth individuals, banks, trusts, and pension funds. Southern Equity identifies economic and investment themes, performs due diligence, and structures private investment partnerships. The firm also provides guidance to clients on establishing legal entities that comply with the Economic Development Program’s requirements of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Southern Equity Advisors manages investments for private funds and SPVs, charging a management fee and/or carried interest fee as outlined in the investment management agreement. The management fee for venture capital funds is typically 2.5% of the capital account balances, reduced to 0.5% after the investment period. Southern Equity also receives a performance-based fee or carried interest, generally ranging from 10% to 20% of net profits allocated to each private fund investor, subject to a high water mark. For separately managed entities, Southern Equity charges either an investment management fee up to 2% per year and/or a carried interest fee.
