About Michael
I help business owners, executives, and families in North Carolina turn a successful career into a well-planned retirement. I'm Michael Hudson, AIF®, a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor with Farther in Wilmington, North Carolina. Licensed since 1994, I bring more than 30 years of experience helping clients navigate important financial decisions. My focus is on individuals and families approaching or already enjoying retirement, particularly during the critical five years before and after retirement. This is when decisions about taxes, investment risk, retirement income, and preserving wealth become especially important. I believe successful retirement planning involves much more than managing an investment portfolio. It's about understanding how your investments, taxes, income needs, and estate planning decisions work together. I coordinate with clients' CPAs and attorneys to help bring those pieces together into a comprehensive financial strategy. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), I believe in building long-term relationships grounded in trust, transparency, and putting clients' interests first. Outside the office, my wife, Deanna, and I have been married for more than 30 years. I serve on the board of Going Beyond the Pink, a Wilmington nonprofit. I'm also passionate about waterfowl hunting and offshore blue marlin fishing, interests I share with many of my clients. **If you're within five years of retirement and want a second opinion on your retirement income strategy, investment portfolio, or potential tax exposure, I'd welcome the opportunity to have a conversation.**
